Racetrack Vets is a specialist equine sports medicine veterinary practice based in North East Victoria. The team is headed by respected racehorse veterinarian Dr David McKellar, who has almost 20 years experience in racetrack medicine and stable health protocols. Dr McKellar has worked with many of Australia’s leading horse trainers and has been the veterinarian in charge of the care of well over 100 Group 1 winners, including four Melbourne Cup winners.

Dr McKellar and the team at Racetrack Vets specialise in all elements of racetrack medicine and boast an impressive record in diagnosing lameness and respiratory conditions, in particular. The clinic uses state-of-the-art equipment, including digital radiology, ultrasound scanning, video endoscoping and shockwave therapy.

The team at Racetrack Vets has developed expertise in all veterinary aspects associated with yearling sales, including its repository x-ray service. The service includes digital x-rays and ultrasounds, inspections and x-ray evaluations and pre-sale endoscopic examinations.
